Kyle De Asis

Hi! I’m an aspiring Filipino-American graphic designer from San Francisco. I’m excited to keep growing my skills, explore new techniques, and take on opportunities that will help me grow as a designer.

SF Voting Sticker

This project challenged us to design an original “I Voted!” sticker for San Francisco voters using a circular template.

For my design, I illustrated the San Francisco skyline to highlight the city’s identity and sense of community. I kept the layout clean, bold, and celebratory while making sure the phrase “I Voted!” stood out clearly in the design.

Poster Series Project

This project challenged me to apply photography and design principles to create a unified poster series.

I photographed my twin brother to represent faith, family, and sports, blending color, emotion, and personal storytelling to express how these values ground and inspire me.

Personal Tattoo Design

This project introduced the importance of combining aesthetics with personal meaning to create a tattoo design. The goal was to explore ideas rooted in our identity, values, or experiences and turn them into a clean, professional line art design using both analog sketches and digital refinement.

I created a personal tattoo design that blends my Filipino heritage with my love for sneaker culture. I designed a one-line Air Jordan 1 plant pot with a monstera plant, symbolizing growth, adaptability, and self-expression.

3 Icons

This project emphasized the importance of research in the design process and challenged me to create a cohesive set of three illustrated icons inspired by San Francisco’s history.

I focused on the city’s early hip-hop culture, highlighting sideshows, DJing, and graffiti. The sketchbook-inspired textures and binder paper elements were influenced by my childhood memories of sketching and creating with my cousins.

PSA Poster

This project challenged me to design a Public Service Announcement (PSA) poster aimed at raising awareness about a meaningful issue faced by college students.

I designed a poster using a heart made of puzzle pieces to symbolize the slow, hopeful process of healing. Tear-off tabs with uplifting quotes and supportive details like a mental health hotline make the message personal, comforting, and encouraging for students.

This project explored the idea of visual duality by designing a single square composition that expresses the meaning of two opposite words and how they relate to each other.

I was assigned the words “exposed” and “secret.” This visual metaphor represents how exposing something often uncovers what was hidden.

Six Word Memoir Card Project

This project invited us to create a six-word memoir trading card as a way to introduce ourselves and build class community. The challenge was to communicate our personal story through typography, with minimal imagery, and produce multiple cards to exchange with classmates—creating a collective deck representing our class.

I designed a six-word memoir trading card reading “Hoy! I’m Filipino Inside and Out!” Using bold type and a subtle Filipino sun symbol, I celebrated my cultural identity in a personal and expressive way.
